A flat beginning. A curved destination.
How patterned thin sheets meet a sphere, carry a pattern, and remain attached to a curved surface.

01 / THE QUESTION
Flat and curved do not naturally agree.
A flat sheet cannot cover a doubly curved surface without changing its geometry. The challenge is to understand both the attachment and the pattern transported by the deforming sheet.
02 / THE APPROACH
Let the petals find a path.
A finite-deformation description connects petal-to-sphere attachment with pattern transport. The shape of the sheet becomes part of the mechanical design.
03 / THE INTERFACE
The final shape is only the beginning.
After wrapping, interfacial stability still matters. The study examines the tendency for edge delamination in the attached structure. Personal contribution: investigation and writing — review & editing.
